Who we are
Located across three campuses, two in Cheltenham and one in Gloucester, our history spans nearly two centuries, with our earliest Civic history dating back to the Cheltenham Mechanics' Institute in 1834, and our Church history dating back to the Cheltenham Training College, established in 1847.
Today, we offer the best of both city and country living, combining vibrance and innovation with history and beauty. We continue to invest in new facilities and new courses, improving what we offer for students and meeting the needs of employers and our community.
UoG is a diverse and friendly community where staff and students feel a strong sense of belonging. We welcome 2,000 international students of over 92 different nationalities, and there is a wide range of societies and clubs where students can connect and find their purpose.
We connect people, ideas, and opportunities through creative digital innovation, real world work experience, and meaningful community impact. By bringing technology, employers, and our wider community together, we help students build career ready skills and shape a brighter future for Gloucestershrie and beyond.
