Bishop Grosseteste University (BGU) offers a variety of courses designed to equip students with the knowledge and skills required to support individuals with diverse learning needs.
From undergraduate degrees to postgraduate Masters’ qualifications in Special Educational Needs & Disability (SEND), BGU offers a suite of programmes that empower students to create inclusive, accessible learning environments. At undergraduate level, students have the option to study SEND alongside complementary subjects such as Theology, Music, Psychology, and Education Studies, empowering students to gain a comprehensive understanding of the multifaceted nature of special education.
The courses cover a range of topics, such as learning disabilities, behaviour management, and inclusive practice. Through the course, students explore different categories of need including cognition & learning, social, emotional and mental health, sensory and communication needs. Graduates complete their study having challenged their own beliefs and values, as well as those of others, and as advocates for change, ready to put their new knowledge and skills into practice.
